You Call That Camouflage?

7:00 AM is a little early for me to wake up when I’m on vacation, but this red-spotted newt knocked the grogginess right out of me.

This animal seems poorly camouflaged, so I can only imagine that it tastes terrible… even though it looks like it’s made of gummy bear candy.

Caterpillar? Maybe…

This is the larvae of an Elm Sawfly, the largest sawfly in the world… not that large considering that this guy was the size of a Bic pen cap.

I’m not sure if the black dots are actually the eyes, and I’m not sure if the stubby feet on the bottom are actually functional feet.
