I judge the quality of a camera by how well it can pick up the details of greenbottle flies.
Note the wings, hairs, and dimples on the abdomen. I think I could do even better with a macro lens, instead of the included kit lens.
If you look closely, you can see the reflection of me holding the camera. Compare the clarity of this image to the one I took last summer with the Panasonic Lumix.
I like how the red reflects off the fly’s green armor. Also, check the tiny spider on the right!
If I had to pick a shot of the day, this would probably be it.
