Atlas Lathe Teardown and Rebuild, part 6

I’m nearing the end of this restoration. This is what the carriage looked like when I got it.


Here’s what it looks like now.



The tailstock and leadscrew were dirty.


But cleaned up nicely. I didn’t have the original tool for the tailstock, so I just bought a box end wrench to stand in for it.


The leadscrew was probably the most difficult thing to clean.


But the results are worth it. I think it looks great.


In general, the saddle and apron look wonderful
