Perk
Perk is a program I wrote in 2003 using the Microsoft speech recognition engine. It is designed to listen for a list of words or phrases; when it recognizes one, it runs a command associated with that phrase.
For example, you could configure Perk to launch:- your email program whenver you say “check my email”
- your web browser whenever you say “surf the web”
- your pictures folder whenever you say “how do i look”
- your mp3 player whenever you say “rock out”
Perk requires the Microsoft Speech Recognition Engine to work properly. If you don’t have it, you may encounter this error:
Component ‘Xlisten.dll’ or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid
The latest version is 1.3.0. Advanced users can download the executable alone.
